Qualifications and Experience
After graduating from The University of Melbourne in 2002 I enrolled in general surgical training and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2010.
Since then I worked exclusively in the field of colorectal surgery as an accredited specialist trainee of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand. I worked at large metropolitan centres for colorectal surgery at St Vincents Hospital, Austin Health and Box Hill Hospitals.
I was awarded further fellowship training at the prestigious and world-renowned Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, United States of America. I gained unique expertise in advanced endoscopic procedures and became a certified da Vinci® robotic console surgeon. My special skills includes experience in

In Melbourne, I am a leading expert in the assessment of faecal incontinence and anal sphincter injuries with expertise in endoanal and endorectal ultrasound techniques. I coordinated a Scanmedics BK 3D Endoanal Ultrasound Workshop and was a Demonstrator and Presenter at the RACOG Obstetric Anal Sphincter Repair Workshop Conference.
Research and Education
I am actively involved in research and teaching. I have been invited to both national and international conferences to present my research papers on faecal incontinence, advanced polyp surgery and MRI imaging. I also conduct surgical skills courses for surgeons. My publications include a textbook chapter, anatomy manual and published abstracts.
In my career, I have fulfilled several roles on various clinical training committees while being a tutor and demonstrator at Melbourne and Monash Medical Schools. I was on the junior doctor interview selection panel and coordinator for surgical program for Eastern Health.
Personal Profile
With a rich south-east asian heritage, I am culturally sensitive to people from all backgrounds. I have conversational language skills in Malay, Indonesian and Chinese dialects (Mandarin, Hakka, Cantonese, Teochew, Hokkien).

My aim is to provide the highest standard of patient care and service with a personal and friendly approach.
I work in close liaison with the referring doctor and allied health staff through direct discussion and prompt correspondence.
I am married with two children. Outside work, I enjoy professional level photography and have participated in photo contests, received awards with photos archived in photo libraries.
