Signs and symptoms of colorectal disease include:

  • A change in your bowel habits, including diarrhea or constipation or a change in the consistency of your stool

  • Rectal bleeding or blood in your stool

  • Persistent abdominal discomfort, such as cramps, gas or pain

  • A feeling that your bowel doesn't empty completely

  • Weakness or fatigue

  • Unexplained weight loss

Attending an appointment

  • medicare card and health insurance / veteren's affairs card

  • a list of current medications and allergies

  • any x-rays, CT scan, MRI scan and reports

  • any blood tests results

 

At your appointment

  • thorough medical history is taken

  • physical examination is conducted

  • discussion of possible diagnosis

  • discussion of treatment options

  • determine if any other tests are required

  • please give the surgery 24 hours notice
